3 Tips to Unlock Your True Potential as a Blogger

One thing I notice among many of the aspiring bloggers out there who truly desire to turn their blog into a business, is that they are actually holding themselves back from the success that is possible for them. Too many bloggers don’t truly believe in themselves and their ability to affect others and live a life where their passion is at the forefront. It almost seems to good to be true to them so it must not be real.  I want to shout from the rooftops that this is completely false and it is completely possible to live a life filled with passion and purpose through blogging AND make a living from it.

When you are starting out, it will not be easy to figure out your master plan to monetize your blog in a way that feels good to you and supports the lifestyle you desire, but as you figure it out, it does get easier and easier. I have learned how incredible it can be to follow the path in life that lights you up, despite what it looks like to the outside world.

While the journey from blog to biz is kind of a wild ride and requires some serious guts and perseverance, it is one of the most worthwhile endeavors I have ever embarked upon. The ups and the downs can be intense, but I feel like I am truly living the life I was meant to live it.

Here are some of my top tips to help you unlock your true potential and start making moves towards your blogging goals:

1.Stop letting fear get the best of you

Often times, we are our own biggest sabotage and don’t even realize it! We tend to replay the same false stories about what we are capable of achieving, coming from a place of fear. Fear ruins more lives than anything I know and once you are able to call it out for what it is and see how it is holding you back then you can start unleashing your potential. Fear of being seen, heard, judged etc, are all useless fears that stop the greatest of people from living their best life. Don’t let fear in the driver’s seat of your life and pry its crappy little fingers from your wheel so you can gain back control.

2.Start making REAL plans to go after your online business goals

No more one day, some day, when I have time excuses when it comes to your major business goals! If you want to see big changes in your life you need to start actually mapping it out and create a game plan for how you are going to make it happen. Put some dates on that baby and make it REAL! Hold yourself accountable for the milestones you want to hit, but also be kind and patient with yourself because going from employee to business owner is not to be taken lightly and there is a learning curve for most people. Figure out what it will take to get you from blog to biz and get going on your new plan. This may mean signing up for a course or hiring a coach to get you on the right track and avoid wasting your precious time trying to figure it all out alone. Whatever you need to do, write it down so you can see your path laid out before you and get excited about your new journey!

3.Take at least one small action every single day to get you closer towards your goals

Most people complain about having a lack of time to get things done towards achieving their goals and yes it is true, no one has a plethora of time to devote to creating their dream life but there are ways around this. Once you make the decision to go after your goals and create your plan to do it, you actually have to start taking action towards making it happen, even if it is one single task that you do every single day, it WILL add up! Over the course of a year of taking at least one daily action, you will be shocked at how far you can go. Once you start to build momentum and get some quick wins in the books, your beautiful dream life, will start to feel way closer and way more possible than you thought!

Thanks for the tips. I recently started blogging and I am working my plan to stay on top pf my goals. I believe many bloggers face this common problem.

  4. Awesome tips! Especially like the one about doing one small thing every day or action. Took me a while but I forced it and now its almost habit!

This is great advice, I am afraid I fall into the category of thinking my blog will never be good enough. Somedays it feels like I am just shouting into a tin can and no one hears me. I have a home/ lifestyle blog which is a lot of DIY and decorating tips and tricks, so as a creative person I am super hard on myself to achieve my self inflected goals.

The good news is I’m over my fears. Everyday I’m making the effort to do something more but yet unsure of what REAL plans for myself are. I have made progress over the last month in the # of views I’m getting. So I’m just taking things on step at a time considering it’s taken me awhile to get over fears while only being a blogger for a few months. Thank you for this article though It does have me thinking of my future.
