How to Drive Massive Traffic to Your Blog

drive massive traffic to your blog

One of the most common questions I get from people in regards to growing their blog is how to drive more traffic! Having large amounts of traffic translates to being able to grow your email list and thus selling your products or services more easily. While there is a misconception that you need hundreds of thousands of pageviews to be successful ( you don’t!) having a steady flow of traffic is definitely extremely valuable. Here are my top 3 tips to driving traffic to your blog:

1. Epic Content:

Driving massive traffic to your blog starts with the actual content on your blog. There has to be good stuff going on for people to come to in order to drive them there in the first place. So many people think that they have to post several times a week to have a valuable blog and this is definitely not the case! If you can manage to pump out amazing quality shareable content multiple times a week then absolutely go for it, but many do not have enough time to do this well. Rather than stressing about how many times a week to post, focus on creating the best blog posts you can possibly come up with! A blog post that evokes something from your reader and leaves them wanting more. Those types of posts are what gets shared and what will result in returning visitors to your site! Regardless of what niche you are in, creating epic content that provides real value to your readers is where you need to start when your goal is to drive massive amounts of traffic.

2. Social Media:

Utilizing social media to drive traffic is one of the best ways to get eyes seen on that epic content you have spent so much time creating. With so many channels to choose from these days, I recommend choosing one platform to start with and master that before you try to spread yourself thin. Instagram and Pinterest are my favorites for driving traffic. Pick a platform you actually like posting on and go with that to start building a following which you can then direct to your posts every time they go live. Because it often takes months and even years to build up a substantial following, this type of traffic tends to be filled with loyal followers who clearly love what you are putting out if they are following you on your social media channels. While this is not necessarily a quick way to get traffic, it is EXTREMELY valuable and worth the effort it takes to build up an audience.

3. Guest Posting:

This is  a tried and true way to drive traffic to your site and has been around for ages! It is also amazing to be able to collaborate and connect with others while sending quality traffic to your site. See if some of your favorite blogs accept guests posts or check out Facebook groups where there are threads for bloggers looking to collaborate. Guest blogging also helps your site’s SEO because of the backlink you gain from other sites that you post on. If you are just starting out, the key is to start small with the types of blogs you pitch to and work your way up to larger blogs as you begin to gain traction. This is another long term strategy but is also worth the effort and is a great way to network with others in your community!

At the end of the day, there is not one magic strategy that will work for everyone looking to drive traffic to their blog. It takes quite a bit of persistence and getting yourself out there to be able to attract the type of traffic you want. And remember, having massive traffic numbers does not automatically equate to success. What you do with the traffic that does come to your site and how you build a relationship with your readers is key. Stay tuned for more articles that will cover the different ways you can do this!

I’m always worried to guest post, like my content won’t be as well read as the rest. I hate to bring other sites down. I really need to drop that mentality I suppose; you’ve made that sound might tempting.

Hello! I totally agree with everything you have up there! Especially with social media.. I tried doing the whole 5 platform thing but I was totally spinning and couldn’t enjoy the day..
One thing though.. Say for example I’m busy building up my instagram following and I feel pretty good about how that is going how do I push my followers onto the blog itself? They seem to love the photos but I haven’t seen a noticeable increase in views on the site? is me 🙂

Thanks for your comment! It will take a bit of time to see a great volume going from your Instagram to your blog. Just keep going with putting your best content out there and entice your audience with your caption to want to learn more and click through from your Instagram to your blog. You will begin to see a gradual increase! 🙂
